I shot this with Elle Edwards on a beautiful summer day in a gorgeous studio. I was in a mood for reasons that had nothing to do with the shoot but instead of leaving my saltiness at the door, as dancers are often told to do, I brought it into the work. The trick to not letting emotions affect your environment is to embrace them lovingly so no one on the project suffers any consequences, and the art is fuelled with the truth. I didn't project my attitude on the lovely people on set but I certainly let the camera have it. In turn, I got back photos infused with a different energy that until that time, I had never seen captured; I had never let anyone capture. I appreciate that very much.
