Last September both this artist and I left Toronto. We didn't leave together, nor did we know the other was about to make a major move but before we embarked on individual adventures, we shot together. Louis Chapeau was calling for models for a larger project and when I found out it had to do with naked bodies and bright paint, I messaged him right away.
He's a great painter and I was curious to know what our energy would be like on set. It turns out that between him and my very talented friend, Mikka Gia, who lent us her loft for the shoot, we couldn't stop laughing. Between jokes and snacks, I ran back and forth from Mikka's shower after each color session. With bright vibes and good music, I let the paint cool my skin and slide down my body like a topical libation.
You can purchase prints from him in Yellow or Red and a portion of all sales will be donated to the women's Charity BridgeNorth - a survivor-led organization providing direct service to individuals and families impacted by sex trafficking, creating public education and awareness, and advocate on behalf of trafficked persons for systemic change.
